Yangpyeong
- The Land of Hidden Jewels |
| Open up a map and point
to the center of the Korean peninsula. There, you will
find Yangpyeong (approximately 66km to the East of,
or an hour car ride away from, South Korea¡¯s capital,
Seoul). With a total area of 877.8 square kilometers
(1.4 times bigger than Seoul), Yangpyeong is
surrounded by several noteworthy mountains, such
as Mount Yongmun, and streams contributed by
the Namhan and Bukhan rivers. These rivers, which
stem from Mount Keumgang and Mount Daeduk, meet
in Yangpyeong and flow to the famous Han river.
Hence, it is no surprise that Yangpyeong is known
as the "center of water" and beautiful
place of hidden jewels. Needless to say, each
step in Yangpyeong is met with breathtaking views
and the most picturesque scenery. |
