Official Flag
On the Yangpyeong flag, the color green represents flourishing agriculture and nature, while the blue symbolizes the clear waters that can be found in Yangpyeong. The image of the gingko tree, a tree that has been around for a thousand years, is Yangpyeong's official tree. It illustrates the harmony between Mount Yongmun and the Namhan and Bukhan rivers. The outline of the "Y" points to Yangpyeong¡¯s bright and vast future ahead.

Yangpyeong¡¯s official bird, the pigeon, symbolizes love and peace. This bird, which is known for its obedience to mankind, is an emblem of the gentle and friendly nature of Yangpyeong¡¯s people, who cherish peace and harmony. As birds that live in groups, pigeons are known for a strong sense of cooperation, with simple appearances. Together, these traits express the stability and prosperity of Yangpyeong¡¯s residents.
Official Flower£ºAzalea
The Azalea is an appropriate symbol for the environmentally-friendly essence of Yangpyeong. Azaleas make up approximately 79% of the district's forest. They flourish on barren lands and decorate the Yangpyeong in a variety of colors including: pink, dark pink, purple-pink and white. Azaleas blossom in early Spring and represent the hope that brings prosperity and happiness to the people of Yangpyeong.
Official Tree: Gingko Tree
Yangpyeong¡¯s official tree, the Gingko, has been cited throughout Asian history, and has been referred to as magnificent and strong by many Korean dynasties. Also known as "Cheonwangmok", the Gingko Tree is the nation's 30th natural monument. The particular species of Gingkoes found near the Yongmun Mountain are among the most exquisite of those that can be found in Asia. Many believe that the existence of these trees highlight the Yangpyeong district's pollution-free environment. In addition, the Gingko tree's longevity also symbolizes the bright and hopeful future of Yangpyeong¡¯s residents, as well.
