icon A Pagoda is a symbol of a Buddhist priest¡¯s tomb, and it is the place where their ashes or bone relics are kept. This pagoda is situated in Sana Temple and contains the relics of Taegohwasang Bowoo (1301-1382), who was a priest during the latter part of the Goryeo Dynasty.

Guksa became a Buddhist monk at the age of 13 by Kwangjiseonsa of Hoeam Temple, and during the 2nd year of King Chungmok (1346), he went to China to learn Cheonggong¡¯s teachings. He returned at the 4th year of King Chungmok, and cultivated his spiritual discipline at a small temple called Soseolam and became the Most Reverend Priest by the royal king, and entered nirvana at this temple.
The pagoda has the shape of a stone bell. It is tall and on top of the square stereobate, are carvings of the lotus flower, and on the foot of the pagoda, which is long and round, there are no adornments. On the top, there is a lotus blossom.
The period that the pagoda was erected was during the Goryeo Dynasty by a scholar named Dalshin in the 9th year of King Woo of the Goryeo Dynasty (1383), who also erected the tombstone as well, according to the engravings on the tombstone that stands near the pagoda.
