Nosansaji

icon This is where the mortuary tablet and portrait of scholar Yi, Hang-ro (1792~1868) is being kept. Confucian scholars has built this structure to praise the scholarship and mind of Yi Hang-ro and also perform religious services

since 1954. Yi Hang-ro was born and raised in Byeokgye village and refused many government posts to concentrate on studies and educated young scholars. He also followed Juhui and Song Siyeol¡¯s doctrines and tried to carry it on.
The building was repaired in 1985 and the portrait and mortuary tablet of both Juhui and Song Siyeol are worshiped here every year.
There is a pillar on both sides of the rectangular wall across the ridgeline. The front gate stands on the roofs and a shrine was built inside the structure facing the south. Nosansaji has 3 chambers in the front, and one and a half at the side. From a side view, the roof resembles In (ìÑ), the Chinese character for a human being.
