Sansuyu Festival
The Gaegun-Myeon Sansuyu Festival is held
every April, early in the Spring season, when
the Sansuyu tree¡¯s white and yellow flowers
are in full bloom. The local Gaegun-Myeon towns
of Naeri and Jueupri boast one of Korea¡¯s largest
populations of Sansuyu trees.
Various local cuisines incorporate the fruit
and flowers from the Sansuyu Tree, such as
teas, at the Sansuyu Festival. Gaegun Hanwu
(traditional Korean cow meat) tastings are
also held at the Festival. In addition, events
such as a Sansuyu writing contest, a sketching
competition, and a seedling exhibit are held
over the Festival¡¯s three day period.
